XPE, or cross-linked polyethylene foam, is made by high-temperature continuous foaming of low-density polyethylene resin with cross-linking agents and foaming agents. Compared with EPE (physically foamed polyethylene, commonly known as pearl cotton), it has higher tensile strength and finer pores. XPE material has excellent performance in durability, light resistance, and physical impact resistance compared to other PE or non-PE materials. XPE itself is chemically stable, not easily decomposed, odorless, and has good elasticity. It is a preferred material for making crawling mats, sound insulation layers, heat insulation layers, and car mats.

XPE is an ideal material for automotive and air conditioning insulation. In recent years, it has developed rapidly in the sports and leisure products market, such as surfboards, moisture-proof mats, and yoga mats. It also has certain uses in construction and even wider applications in flame-retardant materials. Recently, it has been widely used in the automotive and packaging industries.
