Polyethylene terephthalate (PET or PETE) is the main type of thermoplastic polyester. Commonly known as polyester resin, it is a condensation polymer of terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol. Along with polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), it is classified as a thermoplastic polyester or saturated polyester. PET material can withstand high temperatures of 120 degrees Celsius, and short-term use can withstand high temperatures of 150 degrees Celsius. It can also withstand low temperatures of -70 degrees Celsius.
